On on the initial attempt to open the Acrobat updater, I received a warning asking if I wanted to open it despite the Security Preference, to which I responded that I did want to do, but only a Mac Error message resulted.

I've tried several times to open several copies of the Acrobat updater, but each time I got a warning that it could not be opened, and subsequent to this, I found that the attempt to open it reduced the Acrobat updater to 0 kb. Security Preference options that won't allow "AcrobatUpd10116.pkg" to open & update AcrobatXPro AcrobatXPro (in Adobe CS-6) needs updating with "AcrobatUpd10116.pkg" in order to work on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6, but Security Preferences allowing any installs besides those from the Apple store or Apple approved can't be changed to allow "AcrobatUpd10116.pkg" to open and install the necessary update. The chosen app also has other attributes. I've had several episodes, recently, of trying to troubleshoot problems at support web sites that don't accept "tiff" files. I am looking for an app that lets me choose output formats within the app. PS: I'm trying to do this, in part, because it appears that the "Grab" Utility only writes "tiff" files. Blocking the path entirely means 'my' Security settings are no longer 'mine'. I can understand, and don't mind, that Apple might plant an obstacle in my path, to encourage second thoughts about what I'm about to install. What's the story? Has Apple decided I can't be trusted to choose software for my own computer? Or am I missing another path to installing "unknown publisher" software?Įl Capitan allows me to override 'my' security settings in the System Prefs.
